To commemorate the release of the Nike Air Force 1 "West Indies", we wanted to highlight the Caribbean need-to-know spots in Atlanta (in no particular order) that you may not have heard of yet. From jerk chicken and oxtails served with rice and peas to beef patties and curried goat, check out our selection below:
1. Dat Fire Jerk Chicken

Known as “an authentic taste of Jamaica in the heart of Atlanta”, Dat Fire Jerk Chicken is hard to miss on Northside Drive with its red, yellow, green, and black painted exterior. You also might remember this distinct restaurant from our Nike Air Force 1 "West Indies" editorial.
2. Rock Steady
Located at 907 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Inspired by years of living and traveling in the Caribbean and Africa, celebrated restaurateur and nightclub owner Joe Russo created Rock Steady to give Atlantans an immersive sensory sampling of the vibrant cuisines of the West Indies in an upmarket setting.
3. APT 4B
Located at 2293 Peachtree Rd Unit B, Atlanta, GA 30309
APT 4B is a Savvy, Eclectic, Intimate and Funky Restaurant in the heart of Buckhead Atlanta. The restaurant itself is modern with a classic feel, hinting at the best of then and now.
4. Spice House
Located at 375 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Spice House is the product of a daring, adventurous entrepreneur that is detail obsessed with everything from food to interior design. The menu was developed from distinct and different dishes from some of the selected islands in the Caribbean including; Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad, and the Bahamas.
5. Scotch Bonnett Jamaican Restaurant
Located at 4454 Campbellton Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30331
If authenticity is important to you, Scotch Bonnett is the perfect spot for it. A roadside stand for Caribbean curry, oxtail & jerk chicken in down-home digs with outdoor seats.
6. Papi's Cuban & Caribbean Grill
Located at 216 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Their mission is to celebrate and share the Cuban culture and cuisine. You don’t have to travel to Cuba or the Caribbean to experience the flavors that are indigenous to the tropics. Papi’s brings all the essence of the South Seas to you, with attention to authenticity and an adherence to the recipes of generations.
7. Zeke's Kitchen & Bar
Located at 4454 S Cobb Dr SE Ste. 101, Smyrna, GA 30080
A crossroad of flavors and cultures, Zeke's is locally owned and operated by a blended Haitian-American family. Their goal is to introduce Haitian cuisine to all. They do this by elevating authentic Haitian dishes and fusing them with American favorites.
8. Wylie & Rum
Located at 45 Moreland Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
Wylie and Rum is a Caribbean kitchen and rum bar serving island inspired creative dishes. The new concept from operators Tony Lewis, David Lewis and Jose Lopez offers an easy-going vibe which is both colorful and comfortable. The menu is familiar and adventurous, featuring spicy Jamaican Jerk Chicken, award winning guava BBQ ribs, Cuban sandwiches, salads and vegetarian items as well as other island inspired dishes and a full bar with specialty drinks from our hand-crafted cocktail list.
9. Locale Caribbean
Located at 1197 Peachtree St NE, Suite 150. Atlanta, Georgia 30361
Chef Taylur Davis has created a Caribbean concept perfect for Atlanta at Politan Row. After a stint in Los Angeles working with the celebrity elite, Davis has decided to bring her passion for the culinary arts back to Atlanta. You’ll find jerk chicken platters, grilled corn topped with coconut shavings, and specialty Locale “puff” tacos on the menu.
10. Afrodish
Located at 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30303
The Sarpong’s immigrated to America from Ghana in the early 1980s and Mrs. Sarpong had a vision to create a restaurant where people could experience the authentic seasonings from her homeland mixed with some of the traditional dishes known across the Caribbean and other African countries. This vision turned into what is now known as the AfroDish where customers can come to experience authentic afro-caribbean cuisine.
