This Thursday, we had Atlanta's own DJ Dibiase come through and provide the sounds for our first Spinback Thursdays! Between spinning, we got the chance to catch up with him and ask a few questions. So check out the interview and photos below and get familiar with The Million Dollar DJ:
So how'd you get your start?
I got my start by kinda sneaking into clubs when I was 17 years old and putting myself in the right position with promoters and other DJs and they got me the opportunity to DJ at their events and parties. But even before that I would make mixtapes in highschool and pass them out on the bus or wherever.

Where's your favorite place to spin in Atlanta?
My favorite spot to spin is where I've been for the last 3 years. Whiskey Park in the W Hotel. I do every Friday night there. You got everybody from your local celebrities, your artsy fartsy people, to your Owen Wilsons and Spike Lees all come through, so it's a fun place to be. You never know what to excpect with it being a hotel.
Who have been the top 3 people you've been able to work with so far?
My top 3 in no particular order has to be Trinidad [James] who used to come to my parties when he was younger and we just kinda hooked up from there. I did a screwed and chopped version of his mixtape so that's how that got popped off. Other than that I'd say DJ Chemist who's an OG DJ in Atlanta, probably my favorite DJ in Atlanta if not out of all DJs across th world. He's always showed support. Number three are my partners from this party I do called All Vinyl Everything that we started a year ago.

For a more in depth look at DJ Dibiase, check out his site http://www.themilliondollardj.com/ and pick up the 2nd installment of his #LeisureSuite mixtape here at the store!

For those who were at Wish this Saturday, it was obvious that the Lebron X Cork release caused a lot of commotion in the sneaker community. On top of the huge release and the line wrapped around the store, we had the creator of the madness present in store to sign boxes, shoes, and even in-soles. Take a look at some quotes from Jonathan Johnson-Griffin and the images we captured on Saturday below:

Why Cork?
JJG: "We were talking to Lebron and he was saying that he kind of wanted to give it that champagne bang feeling. And it's based all around the idea of popping bottles... When you hear that champagne bang of the cork popping, you know you won a championship."
This "champagne bang" aspect of the design is evident in Jonathan's "Popping Bottles!" signature.

Can you take us through higlights of the design/production process?
JJG: "For me the higlights [of the production process] are sketching and working with the athletes to dive into his life and extract different details that are really rich that we can tell different stories around."

This year, Wish is celebrating Black History Month with the launch of our Wish Key Players capsule. This capsule will consist of five tees, featuring some of the Civil Rights Movement's most influental figures, with their last names and numbers printed on the back.
We labeled this capsule "Key Players" to pay homage to the roles that each person played in brining us the freedom that we are able to experience today. Going deeper, the numbers on the back of each tee are meant to represent an important year in American history such as '63, the year of the March on Washington and Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, or '68, the year of the historic 1968 Summer Olympic Games. Each day next week, we will focus on a different Key Player, releasing their tee and sharing some of their greatest moments that made them "key" in the Civil Rights movement. So stay on the lookout for #WishKeyPlayers on Twitter to follow along and participate in our Wish Key Players Week.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally released in 1998, the Black/Varsity Red-White colorway of the Air Jordan 13 has been tapped for a return this January. Inspired by the paw of a panther and an unknowing play on Michael Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname, the retro edition of the sneaker features an upper of tumbled black leather, red nubuck, and a padded black mesh overlay alongside a perforated tongue, a hidden lacing system, and Zoom Air cushioning.

Coinciding with this colorway, Wish has created a logo crewnceck that matches perfectly with this release. So for any of you planning on copping a pair, make sure to come by or click here first to get this limited crewneck.
