Despite the announcement that they would be shutting down their operations after seven years of successful business, celebrated street artist KAWS and his OriginalFake imprint have been steadily rolling out new Medicom figures throughout 2013. The latest debut arrives in the form of the recognizable "Passing Through" Companion figure. Offered up in two colorways - all-black and tonal grey - each somber character is seen perched with its head in its hands. The "Passing Through" Companion is something that KAWS has frequently returned to, having seen exposure most notably in the ongoing larger Companion statue traveling exhibition as seen in Atlanta's former, "Down Time" installation.

In addition to unveiling a small range of KAWS OriginalFake collectibles today, Medicom Toy also debuts its latest collaboration project with Japan's Special Product Design. Known for its oft-used motif of the well known Peanuts character, Snoopy, the latest "Black Peanuts" Snoopy iteration employs an all-black everything aesthetic while encompassing the nostalgic cartoon character in an astronaut helmet. Finished off with a set of tonal aviator goggles, a ruffled scarf and rotating arms, the Medicom x Special Product Design "Black Peanuts" Figurine is now available directly from Wish.

Last Friday, we released our highly anticipated KAWS x Wish tee to a packed house. KAWS, Brian Donnelly, was in our building signing autographs on everything from his Hennessy collaborative bottle to dollar bills. Overall, the event was a huge success. We are happy so many of you had the opportunity to meet the internationally respected artist. We hope you had as much fun attending as we did throwing this event. We've been closely following the forthcoming KAWS Companion install at the High Museum of Art the last few days. The monumental structure launches in advance of his "Down Time" Exhibition that will launch on February 18, 2012 at the High Museum of Art Atlanta. We snapped a couple of pics of the install... needless to say we're stoked about the final exhibit.
